About

I am a Principal Database Administrator and Database Solutions Lead based in Athens, Greece, with extensive experience across Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

My work spans the full database lifecycle: architecture and design, high availability and disaster recovery planning, performance engineering, cloud migration, security hardening, operational automation, and DBA team leadership. I work with organisations that rely on databases as critical infrastructure and need both hands-on technical expertise and strategic direction.

Technical Focus

On the Oracle side, my depth is in Real Application Clusters (RAC), Data Guard — including Active Data Guard and far sync configurations — RMAN backup strategy, and performance tuning at the SQL, session, and instance level. I have worked with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle APEX in production environments.

For SQL Server, my primary focus is enterprise high availability: Always On Availability Groups, Failover Cluster Instances, and the operational considerations that distinguish a well-run SQL Server estate from one that simply works most of the time. I also work with Azure SQL Database and SQL Server on Azure VMs.

My PostgreSQL work includes logical and streaming replication, performance tuning, monitoring with snapshot-based delta approaches, and pgvector for AI-adjacent workloads where vector similarity search is a primary requirement.

MongoDB work covers replica sets, sharding, schema design for operational workloads, and day-to-day administration in production environments.

This site is a technical knowledge base, not a marketing platform. The articles cover operational procedures, architecture trade-offs, failure scenarios, and performance investigations — written for other database professionals who value precision over generalisation. The scripts section provides reusable DBA tooling with explicit risk classification and safe execution guidance.
